Synonyms (search)

This functionality lets the business substitute searched words on the site in real time. You choose which words to replace by assigning them defined substitutions.

For example, you can replace a misspelled uczszelka with the correct uszczelka (Polish for gasket), so the customer reaches the right search despite the typo. You can also swap searched manufacturers — e.g. BOSCH → KNECHT — which is useful when goods of the BOSCH brand are currently out of stock.

Here you can see which substitutions currently work, add a new definition, and delete existing ones.

Substitution of searched words works as follows:

First it checks whether the whole searched phrase (e.g. summer tyres) is in the table.
Then the algorithm checks whether the individual words of the query are in the table (e.g. summer and tyres).

This approach makes the site behave more flexibly. See the example below:

If you search airoh helmets, the algorithm substitutes it with shark helmets, but in any other case the word airoh is replaced with shoei — e.g. airoh jacket → shoei jacket. In this example, alpinestars and alpinestars shoes behave similarly.
