Why good search is not enough
Most automotive catalogues try to improve parts matching through ever-better search — fuzzy search, embeddings, vector search. The problem is that in automotive 'similar' has no value. The customer doesn't want a part that nearly fits their car — they want the one that fits exactly.
AI.Assistant changes the model. Instead of returning a ranking of results, it guides the user through a conversation to precisely identify the vehicle and the need. It asks about the year, engine version, body type. It follows up when something is ambiguous. It only finishes when it is completely certain.
The result: instead of a list of 'maybe this, maybe that' — a specific, correct part.
