Generating discount codes
You generate discount codes in the GC.CART application.
- From the menu, select the Discount code sets option.
- Press the plus button and add a Set.
The type of discount you can give is: Sum of the value of the articles from the promotion, Sum of the value of all articles, and Each order item with the article on sale.
- Sum of the value of all articles (whole cart) — no Attribute has to be added; the code then works on the whole cart.
- Sum of the value of the articles from the promotion — you define the items in the Attributes; the discount is calculated on the sum of goods defined in the promotion.
- Each order item with the article on sale — you define the goods in the Attributes; the discount is calculated on each commodity defined in the promotion.
Dates are not mandatory. After filling in the required fields, press OK.
- The campaign has been created. Now enter the selected campaign and, using the pencil button, edit it.
There are two ways to generate a discount code:
a. Manually — add a single discount code by selecting the plus button. A box appears with an automatically generated code, which is then issued to the customer.
You can also enter any "special" discount code for any discount campaign. This is done the same way, but the individual code, name, etc. must be entered manually.
After saving the added discount code and sending it to the customer, tick the Spent checkbox. This lets you control which discount codes have been issued for realisation. All sent codes can be checked in the Sent column.
b. Using the Generator — in the window below, press Generator to generate the discount codes.
Fill in all the fields and use the Generate button.
To keep control over the discount codes, each code issued to a customer should be changed to sent.
Codes for specific items, markets and manufacturers
Discount codes can also be generated for specific items, markets and manufacturers. Go to the Attributes tab and use the plus button.
a. For a selected product — mark it as TOW (capital letters) and enter the specific commodity code in the value, then accept with OK.
b. For a selected market — mark the TYP as RZ (capital letters) and enter the specific market (e.g. MU, MC) in the value, then accept with OK.
c. For a specific manufacturer — mark TYP as PRO (capital letters) and enter the selected manufacturer (e.g. BOSCH) in the value, then accept with OK.
It is also possible to generate codes in bulk by importing from a file.
The file must have the correct data format. Example below:
