GC.AUTH — user dashboard

GC.AUTH is the application used to give identity to the users of many applications, including the users of GC.Platform. You can create one account that is used across the components of GC.Platform. The application also lets you authenticate with a Google, Facebook or Microsoft account.

Who can use GC.AUTH?

The GC.AUTH dashboard.

There are basically two groups of users of this app:

  1. Customers of stores using GC.Platform components
  2. Owners of stores using GC.Platform components

1. Customers of stores using GC.Platform components

When someone creates an account in one of the many stores operated by GC.Platform, they have access to their personal data in that particular store. The available tabs are: Profile, Change password, Login history and Devices.

Profile tab

Profile and Change password.

The Profile tab shows first name, last name, email address and mobile phone number.

Change password — this tab is available only for native users (those who created their accounts directly in GC.AUTH). Users who created their accounts with Google, Facebook or Microsoft cannot change the password here. For native users this tab enables changing the password: you enter your old password, a new one, and repeat the new one to make sure you have not made any spelling mistakes.

Login history tab

The customer's login history.

The login history shows the date, application, browser used, and whether the login was successful.

Devices tab

The Devices tab.

This tab shows: Name, Device ID, Operating system and Version.

2. Owners of stores using GC.Platform components

A store owner can of course see their own personal data (the same as a regular customer — Login history, Devices), but in addition they can see many other tabs such as: Users, Login history (of users), Applications, Permissions, Request filters, Brands, Branding, Files and Templates. The visibility of this data depends on the permission settings.

Users

The list of users.
Adding a new user manually.

As you can see, the list of users contains first name, last name, email address, phone number and account type (System, Google, Facebook or Microsoft).

The red Add button lets you create a new user manually. It opens the window shown above, where you can define: first name, last name, email address, phone number, and the range of permissions to selected applications.

Login history

Login history of users.

This tab shows the username, date of login, application used, type of browser used, and whether the login was successful.

Applications

Applications the owner has access to.

This tab shows all the applications the store owner has permissions to.

Request filters

Request filters.

Here you can define, for example, IP addresses that will not be able to use your app.

Brands

Brands.

If you have more than one website, you can add more brands here, each with its own logo and background images, while all your users are managed from one database.

Branding

Branding.

Here icons, company logos, login page images and sender email templates are shown.

Files

Files.

To have logos and all the new graphics available, you need to upload them to the auth service. You do this with the Files function and the Add button.

Templates

Templates.
Editing a template.

Here you define the templates for your app — for the email confirmation message, password reset message, and so on.
