Challenge
October 2025 — Poland launches a nationwide deposit return system. Kaucja.pl – Krajowy System Kaucyjny S.A. is its largest operator. Behind the company stands a consortium of the country's largest retailers and manufacturers, giving the system the greatest potential reach of collection points in Poland.
On one side — shops across Poland that must accept and reconcile deposits. On the other — corporate shareholders with stringent IT security policies.
The main contractor on the project is OMECON — they are building the central DRS system, the heart of the entire ecosystem. For such a system to work in practice, it needs a surrounding layer of applications, integrations and security. GearCode was chosen for that piece.
What we built
For kaucja.pl we delivered a complete digital layer: the operator's website based on our GC.CMS, a client management portal with the ability to sign contracts online, a B2B online store for affiliated shops (consumables for RVM machines and manual collection), a data warehouse, a Microsoft Dynamics 365 Sales implementation and a secure infrastructure based on Cloudflare. Everything integrated with the DRS system that OMECON develops on their side.
The strategic core of our role in this project is GC.AUTH — the authorisation system delivering true SSO across the entire ecosystem. A user logs in once and has access to all systems: ours, OMECON's, Dynamics 365 Sales. And founding consortium members log in via Entra ID, with the full security policies of their organisations preserved: MFA, conditional access — everything their IT departments require.
This is a rare level of integration — not on paper, but in real production, between systems from several independent suppliers.
