Synonym Functionality

The functionality allows businesses to replace searched words on the website in real-time. You can choose which words to replace by assigning them specific definitions. For example, you can replace the word 'gaskte' with 'gasket' so that the customer is directed to the appropriate search despite the typo. You can also replace searched manufacturers, for example, 'BOSCH' with 'KNECHT', which is useful when 'BOSCH' products are currently out of stock.

Here you will find information about the currently active substitutions, the ability to add new definitions, and remove existing ones.

The replacement of searched words works as follows:

• First, it checks if the searched phrase, e.g., 'summer tires', is found in the table.
• Then, the algorithm searches if each individual word of the query is found in the table, e.g., 'summer' and 'tires'.

This approach allows for more flexible behavior of the website. Let's see an example below:

If we search for 'airoh helmets', the algorithm will replace it with 'shark helmets',
but in any other case, the word 'airoh' will be replaced with 'shoei', e.g., 'airoh jacket' -> 'shoei jacket'.

In this example, 'alpinestars' and 'alpinestars shoes' behave similarly.
