Generating discount codes
We generate discount codes in the GC.CART application.
1. From the menu, we select "Discount code sets" option.
2. We press the plus key and add "Set".
The type of discount we can give is: "sum of the value of the articles from the promotion", "Sum of the value of all articles" and "Each order item with the article on sale".
1. Sum of the value of all articles (All cart) - with this option no Attribute has to be added and then the code works on the whole cart.
2. Sum of the value of the articles from the promotion - with this option you need to define the items in the Attributes. Then the discount is calculated on the sum of goods defined in the promotion.
3. Each order item with the article on sale - with this option you need to define the goods in the Attributes. Then the discount is calculated on each commodity defined in the promotion.
Dates are not mandatory.
After filling in the required fields, press ok.
4. The given campaign has been established. Now you need to enter the selected campaign and using the key with a
pencil, edit it.
There are two possibilities to generate a discount code:
a. The possibility to manually add a single discount code by selecting the plus key. A box then appears for
completion with an automatically generated code, which is then issued to the customer.
It is also possible to enter any "special" discount code, for any discount campaigns. This is done in the same
way, only the individual code, name, etc. must be entered manually.
After saving the added discount code and sending it to the customer, we check the "Spent" option on the checkbox. This allows us to control which discount codes have been issued for realization.
All sent codes can be checked, verified in the "Sent" column.
b. The second way to generate discount codes is to use the "Generator".
In the window below, press "Generator" to generate the discount codes themselves.
Fill in all the fields and use the "Generate" button.
To have control over the discount codes, each code issued to the customer, should be changed to "sent".
5. Discount codes can also be generated for specific items, for specific markets and for a specific
manufacturers. Go to the Attributes tab and use the plus key.
a. Ability to generate a discount code for a selected product. The selected product should be marked as TOW (in
capital letters) and the specific commodity code should be entered in the value and accepted with the ok button.
b. Ability to generate a discount code for the selected market. Mark the TYP as RZ (with capital letters) and
enter the specific market (e.g. MU, MC) in the value and accept with ok button.
c. Ability to generate a discount code for a specific manufacturer. Mark TYP as PRO (with capital letters) and in
the value enter the selected manufacturer (e.g. BOSCH) and accept with ok button.
